According to a statement, the Anywhere eSIM works alongside any existing SIM card to facilitate a backup if the user’s regular network loses coverage. The aim is to provide “a truly agnostic data connection,” with the eSIM automatically switching to other available networks.

Discussing the REALRIDER SOS product, a spokesperson said: “[The solution] provides a life-saving crash detection and emergency alerting service, automatically sending a rider’s location and vital details to the nearest ambulance service if they crash and can’t call for help.

“[The new partnership] means that if riders crash in an area with no coverage on their main network, the eSIM takes over. This groundbreaking partnership delivers next-level safety, connection and confidence for motorcyclists who ride beyond the limits of traditional coverage.”

o-founder of Realsafe Technologies and the creator of REALRIDER, Andrew Richardson, said: “Thanks to our partnership with Anywhere eSIM, REALRIDER now becomes a fully network-resilient service, delivering true peace of mind to riders, no matter where the road takes them.

“Like all connected tech REALRIDER requires a working mobile data connection and with Anywhere eSIM our users will be safer than ever. Thanks to the Shared Rural Network giving 4G coverage for all four major UK mobile operators, we can offer our subscribers 95 per cent coverage, including the most remote parts of the country.”

British APCO chief operating officer, Duncan Swan, said: “Anything that increases the mobile coverage footprint is a huge positive when comms are needed at critical times, and especially in rural areas where riders are most at risk of losing connectivity.

“This takes REALRIDER SOS to the next level in ensuring riders are safe and connected. It is a fantastic example of a 999 application that has genuinely saved lives.”

The Anywhere eSIM is available as an add-on to REALRIDER SOS for £50 a year.
